The Obenauf Lab welcomes four new students: Lisa, Tobi, Antonia and Colin (from left to right).
Lisa Muskovich is completing her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Applied Sciences Campus Wien. She recently joined the lab for her thesis project and is collaborating with Lisi on research aimed at understanding the processes that drive cancer metastasis.
Tobias Beschauner obtained his Master’s degree in Biochemistry at Heidelberg University and started his PhD studies in May 2025. His research focuses on uncovering how cancer cells develop therapy-resistant states that enable them to escape immune detection and on identifying innovative strategies to counteract these mechanisms.
Antonia Riedl is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at IMC Krems. She has joined the lab for her master thesis, where she will work closely together with Martin and Andri to investigate molecular mechanisms driving metastasis in osteosarcoma and new potential treatment strategies for patients.
Colin Fischer obtained his Master’s degree in Cancer at University College London, after-which he spent three years studying NK cell development and cancer therapeutics at University of Minnesota. Colin started his PhD studies in the Obenauf lab in October, where he will be investigating cell death mechanisms and their impact on immune responses in cancer.
