Anna wins the 2025 Dr. Josef Steiner Cancer Research Award

For her efforts in identifying key molecular drivers of resistance to targeted therapies and defining their impacts on the immune system in cancer, Anna was honored with the prestigious Josef Steiner Award.

The award recognizes groundbreaking discoveries in cancer treatment, while providing future funding for bold research endeavors. Anna aims to utilize these funds in the novel “DECODE iTME” project, which she hopes will help inform overcoming therapy resistance in some of the most difficult to treat cancers patients face. When asked what the award meant to her, Anna replied “I feel really honoured to receive this award. For many years, I have admired the Steiner Award and the amazing work of its past recipients, which has been a big source of inspiration for me. So, on a personal level, it’s definitely a milestone. I see it as recognition of the incredible team effort behind our work—students, postdocs, scientists in my lab, and our many collaborators. Their creativity and dedication have made everything possible.”
